Beginning the first weekend in December you will discover Christmas Strolls in most all of the towns on Cape Cod and the islands (Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket). It is your chance to experience the joy of Christmas in a small town setting, with all the nostalgia one would expect. sEVEN VILLAGES OF HARWICH
Harwich is comprised of seven villages, and each contributes something special to the stroll. You will find tree lightings, story time, caroling and Santa arriving on a sleigh (or firetruck…it’s always a surprise!), Stores in Harwich Port may be offering music, complimentary snacks and beverages and of course the best shopping! In 2023 (and most likely 2024) there were character’s from Dickens walking about town interacting with visitors…quite a sigh to see! It’s a two day event for young and old alike.

The Platinum Pebble Boutique Inn has “Cookies with Santa” the first Saturday in December, and it is the one day each year where the little ones under 18 are welcomed to this adults only inn. Sit on Santa’s lap and whisper your holiday wishes into his ear, have your photo taken, savor holiday beverages and a myriad of home-made cookies while surrounded by the music and decorations of Christmas. Gardens Aglow Just over the bridge in Sandwich is the Heritage Museums and Gardens, and the highlight of the year is Gardens Aglow where the acres of gardens are transformed with lights and displays to captivate and enchant you. Some of the many events include roasting marshmallows, a reindeer hunt and lawn games. Indoors you may visit the antique car museum and see a 1908 Ford Model T or ride a 1908 Looff carousel while spinning by winters scenes from Currier & Ives. Tickets sell out early, and there are some special and VIP events you may want to consider as you plan when to attend.
